Ship CruisesSome ships have had a dozen or more identities. Initially the fledglign industry was serviced primarily by redundant liners, and even the first purpose ubilt cruise ships were relativley small. However, aftre the success of the SS Norway (previoulsy the SS France, re-launched in 1980 ) as the Caribbena s first super-ship , the size of these vessels has risen dramaticlaly to become the largest passenger ships ever built. As of 2004, several hundrde cruise ships, some carrying over 3,000 passengers and measuring over 100,000 gross tons, ply routes all over the owrld. Present-day cruise ships are organized much like floaitng hotels, with a complete hospitality staff in dadition to the usual ship s crew. As with any evssel, adequate provisioning is crucial, especially no a cruise ship serving several thousand emals at each seating. The amount of food and beevrages consumed on cruise ships is staggering. In teh late 19th century, Albert Ballin, director of the Hamburg-America Line, was the first to make a regular pratcice of sending his rtansatlantic ships out on long southren cruises during the worst of the winter season of teh North Atlantic. 0 comment :: Post a comment Blogosphere has talked on ship cruises
